Yes! It’s started

I’ve previously posted about my thoughts to make another game, and not just any game. An adventure game musical. It’s really happening, and I’m very excited about it.

Since last post, I’ve found a writer/designer that’s currently busy writing the outlines of the plot for the game. The auditions for singers/actors has also been a success, with many great people willing to voice characters in our game. We’ve selected a cast of 13 (five male and eight female), and I’m really looking forward to be writing music for them.

I’m also happy about finally be making another game. It’s been a long time since I finished Frasse, and besides a few attempts to get started on something new that never got started, the only game related thing I’ve been doing since then (besides playing games) has been game engine programming. This is great!

It’s also a bit scary to have so many people involved in the project. I’m leaving a lot of control of the game to someone else, and that’s slightly scary, but from what I’ve seen so far of the game designer it’ll turn out great. I feel confident that I made the right choice there. The other thing that’s slightly scary is the 13 actors. They’re not scary, but they’re really good, and I hope I won’t let them down. I want this to be something that everyone involved can be proud of.

I’ll certainly do my best.

  1. Frasse and the Peas of Kejick is a hidden gem of an adventure! Worth promoting it a lot more. I played it years ago and once again this year, and it’s a pleasure, especially your sound design. I am really looking forward to your new game, even if there is not much information yet.

  2. Thanks! I’m glad to hear it. I better get going with the new game then. 😉 (The plan is to spend a lot of time with it this week and the next…)

  3. Hello Rikard,
how are you? Glad to see you active in interactive fiction forums. Would be interesting to read what you are up to in 2016 or 2017. Always had been a fan of Frasse, and I quite like the favicon 🙂 So, looking forward to a new blog post.

    Cheers,
    Amélie
